Our Thursday Celebration generally has six songs plus an instrumental overture/intro.
The Celebration follows an energetic flow. We consider you to be the musical member of the team that's bringing the message and sense of spiritual connection to the congregation. You can use your own music or covers, or whatever combination works best. If you have an idea or a question, please share it!
We print a weekly program/order of service that includes song titles and lyrics for congregational/sing alongs. Please get the song list us no later than Tuesday afternoon.
The program flow begins by gathering into community with uptempo, familiar music that people can sing along with (two songs can be new thought congregational songs or popular tunes).
After the Flames of Faith Ritual you'll take it deeper; audience participation is optional. The next two are deep and powerful to anchor the monthly theme and the topic for the talk. Not necessarily down tempo, but deep and powerful. The last song is an uptempo celebratory release. Something familiar that people can sing along with is great, or you can invite participation.
There is a monthly theme and a specific topic for the week. Some of the music should incorporate those concepts.
Here's the typical sequence:
• 6:00p - Musicians arrive for pray-in, setup & sound check
• 7:00p - Overture/Spirit Jam - Instrumental music "jam" to get things going
• Music 1-Opening Song. Uptempo, engaging. Something that people might be able to sing along with
• Welcome & Pray-in , Announcements
• Music 2 - Also up, engaging. Something that people might be able to sing along with
• Ritual - Lighting the Flames of Faith
• Music 3 - Softer, deeper. Familiar, so people can sing along if they know it.
